How to Jump Start Your Weight Loss

Here are some tips which will help you get your diet off to a good start.

1. KEEP A FOOD DIARY

Before you begin, take stock of your diet!
Write down everything you consume for several days. By doing this, you can analyze your diet and locate the areas of improvement.

2. HAVE REALISTIC GOALS

Don’t have overly ambitious goals or you’ll risk losing your motivation!  
Diets that promise rapid weight loss are very dangerous for your health and especially ineffective because weight loss needs to be regulated.

Keep in mind that even if rapid weight-loss is appealing, speed should be the least of your concerns. A balanced diet will yield slower weight loss but it will be sustainable weight-loss. It’s important to learn how to eat for your health.

3. FILL YOUR FRIDGE WITH GOOD PRODUCTS

Before starting your diet, stockpile your fridge with healthy foods. That is to say:
Avoid all fatty and sweet foods such as chips, cakes, sweets, doughnuts, pastries, sausages, pizzas and other delicious enemies.

Instead, purchase fruits, vegetables, lean meat, fish and fiber-rich foods such as whole grains and legumes in bulk. Fiber rich foods will improve digestion and increase your sense of satiety.

Filling your fridge with the proper items will help you resist temptation allowing you to avoid foods that are harmful to your health. Especially in the evening when you are tired of your day and just want a quick and easy meal.

When choosing food items, pay special attention to the food quality. Some foods provide more micronutrients than others; whereas others are high in sugar and saturated fat.

4. GET THE MOST OUT OF IT!

Laziness and a poor diet are sworn enemies of motivation. If you tend to eat dinner around 6:00 p. m. when you get home from work, try occupying your mind to avoid succumbing to temptation. One great example is to hit the gym!

5. FIND A PLAN PARTNER

Start with friends! It’s always easier to motivate yourself and to stay motivated with the help of friends and family!
